Salutations to the Divine Mother, the Maha Maya, who is worshiped in the form of Durga, Laxmi and Sarawathi, who is the Divine consort of Lord Shiva. The Maha Maya is the pure Intelligence, the pure imperishable energy, who pervades every form of existence. The Maha Maya is the very essence of creation, preservation and destruction, the Shakti of Brahman, the Absolute. The Maha Maya in the form of the great goddess Durga represents dynamism and power, while she is a benefactor (worldly happiness) in the form of Maha Lakshmi and invokes the absolute knowledge in the form of Maha Saraswathi. With the grace of Maha Maya, in the year 1934, the residents of Venkatraopet colony constructed a small temple and installed the Goddess; the temple was known as Devi temple.
